When heading out for the first time, it is a good idea remember a few important tings.
Your equpiment which should atleast contain the following.
1. A flashlight {for a night case}
2. A type of recording device {both video and audio-if possible}
3. A first aid kit.
4. Form of protection, Stones,crystals,religous item.
These are the basics, other items to bring can be found on the "members and equipment page" Now it is a good idea to figure out where it is you wish to go. Most book stores will have books on local haunting and can be a great refference tool for those who might not have any idea of where they might want to start.
It is good to keep it local your first time out, as this makes it easier if you do not to really continue, you are not out too much. If you are running the event {ghost hunt} It is a good idea to make sure everyone is "more or less" in a good mood. As positive energy will help aid the investigation.
Keep the number of people your working with small, as large numbers of people tend to distract. An a sighting could happen with out anyone noticing or EVP might be talked over.
Be serious about your work, NEVER GO INTO IT AS A JOKE This is real work that should be done with respect. Afterall these spirits were/are people and they deserve that much from you if you are going into speak with them.
DO NOT BE NEGITIVE, yes a little provoking from you or one of your people to see if you can get a spirit to talk with you is okay...BUT NEVER VANDALIZE AN AREA.
NEVER TRESSPASS, ALWAYS OBEY THE LAW, IF SOMEONE SAYS NO...THAT IS IT.
ALWAYS KNOW YOUR PARTY/GROUP, make sure any new members are openen minded and that aleast someone in your group knows them. YOU DO NOT WANT A LOSE CANNON ON YOUR HANDS.
NEVER, keep yourself too open. Be wary of this as it is a way for a spirit to drain you. Be aware of your surroundings, but make sure if you being to feel weak/dizzy or really cold. Go back to base camp, until you feel better. NEVER TRY AN CONFRONT A SPIRIT IF IT IS DRAWING ENGERY FROM YOU!!
NEVER FORGET YOUR PROTECTION- certain crystals or stones, religous artifacts {crosses ect.}This will help keep negitivity away.*

NEVER WANDER OFF ALONE, always tell the group what it is your doing, and if you wish to go somewhere take someone with you. As you should not tavel alone:
1. For safety {it might be dark-you could get lost-you might see something no one else can validate-or you might just get hurt}
2. As stated above, to vailidate what you see, if you are walking alone in the woods/house..ect. An you see a ghost wearing a chicken suit having tea with Elvis...who is it that can help prove your claim.
